PART 1
I believe that homosexuality is a sin, I don't see how anyone who considers themselves a "Christian" can say otherwise. As Christians we are called to believe in 100% of the Bible and with verses like Leviticus 18:22 and 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 I don't see a way to say that homosexuality is now acceptable in Gods eyes.
PART 2
I want to address just the people who consider themselves "Christians" and consider homosexuality a sin (like myself) Do you remember the story in John 8? it's the story of the woman caught in the act of adultery. (go read it now if you want to) I have no doubt in my mind that if Jesus was on this earth right now, this story would have had a different name. Instead of the "Adulterous Woman" it would probably be the "Homosexual Man". I know that Jesus would react in the same way to the homosexual man in 2015 as he did to the "Adulterous Woman" back then. So what did Jesus do in John 8?
1. He stood up for her in front of the "Religious People" trying to kill her. (but he did not stand up for her sin).
2. He reminded the Pharisees of sins in their own lives that they didn't view as important as Adultery.
3. He did not condemn the woman, but loved her and sent her away with these words, "Go now, and leave your life of sin"
So if we consider ourself Christians (meaning people trying to be like Christ) there are 3 things that we should do for homosexuals that Christ showed us in John 8.
1. Stand up for those being hated on by the "Religious People" of our day (but don't stand up for the sin)
2. Remind ourselves and others that we are all sinners, and that God is the one who will ultimately judge us in the end.
3. Love EVERY non-believer and don't condemn them, but do what Jesus did when He said "Go now, and leave your life of sin"
PART 3
To those who are homosexual. I apologize for anytime you have been discriminated, looked down upon, spoken to rudely and anything else negative by people who consider themselves "Christians". I truly am sorry. That is not what the Bible teaches and that is not how it is supposed to be. Like I said earlier in part 2, we are all sinners in need of Gods grace. But here is a reminder that Jesus died on the cross for Homosexuals just as he did for Heterosexuals. You just need to accept His grace. So yes I agree with you when you say that "
type of love, Gods Love.
I would love to talk more to anyone about this subject.
